Getting started with Pop Up & Quiz
1. Install and open
Install Pop Up & Quiz and open it from Apps. You'll build the flow, set the reward, and target it all from the app.
2. Switch on the app embed in your theme
Pop Up & Quiz is a theme app embed: nothing can appear on your storefront until it is switched on in your theme, and Shopify only lets you do that. The app's Setup row shows the state as a pill (App embed on / off) and checks it again by itself every couple of minutes and whenever you come back to the tab.
Turn it on: click Turn it on in my theme → in the Setup row. Your theme editor opens on App embeds with Pop Up & Quiz already switched on — click Save. Doing it by hand: Online Store → Themes → Customize → the app-embeds icon in the left sidebar → switch on Pop Up & Quiz → Save.
Where it runs: on every page of the theme it's saved in — home, products, collections, pages, blog, cart. It stays invisible until a popup is set live in the app, so switching it on changes nothing shoppers see yet. The embed is saved per theme: if you work on a draft theme, switch it on there too before you publish.
Its one setting: Discount reveal bar, on the same panel. When a visitor lands with a discount code primed (from an ad, an email, or a popup reward) it shows a small dismissible pill confirming the code and the % off. Turn it off if your theme already displays primed discounts — details.
Turn it off: same panel, same toggle, then Save. Popups stop instantly and everything you built stays saved in the app.
3. Build the steps
Add an intro, optional media steps, and the quiz question that gates the reward. Keep it short — a few steps convert far better than a lecture.
4. Set the reward
Choose the discount, generate the reward code, and set its expiry. Codes are unique and claim-protected so a single reward can't be farmed.
5. Test, then enable
Use Test mode to walk the entire flow yourself, then enable it on your storefront and set who sees it.
