27 post-purchase survey questions that actually earn their screen time

2026-07-07 · Customer Luv Surveys

The thank-you page is the highest-attention real estate you own. Every question you ask there should pay rent. Here are 27 that do, organized by what they earn you.

Attribution (ask one, always first)

  1. How did you hear about us?
  2. Where did you first hear about us?
  3. What convinced you to buy today?

Tips: randomize the answer order (position bias is real), always include "Other" with a text box, and put this question first — it's the one with direct budget consequences, and completion drops with every extra tap.

Product research

  1. What almost stopped you from buying?
  2. What other products did you compare us against?
  3. What's the #1 result you're hoping for?
  4. Which flavor/variant should we make next?
  5. How do you plan to use this product?

Customer profile

  1. My age range is…
  2. Who is this order for? (myself / partner / gift)
  3. Which of these best describes you? (persona options)
  4. What other brands do you buy in this category?
  5. What other supplements/products do you use daily?

Lifecycle & timing (targeted sets shine here)

  1. My due date is… (prenatal buyers only)
  2. When do you expect to run out?
  3. Is this a gift? For what occasion?
  4. How often do you want delivery reminders?

Experience & expectations

  1. How easy was checkout, 1–5?
  2. Did you find everything you were looking for?
  3. What nearly made you abandon your cart?
  4. What would make you order again?

Channel-specific follow-ups

  1. Which podcast? (if they answered "podcast")
  2. Which creator/influencer?
  3. Which store did you see us in?
  4. What did you search for on Google?
  5. Who referred you?
  6. Which ad do you remember seeing?

The golden rules

  • One question at a time. Walls of questions get zero answers.
  • Everything skippable. Respect converts to completion.
  • Max 5 questions for most orders — save 10-question sets for your highest-affinity buyers.
  • Target by product. A due-date question to a men's multi buyer costs you credibility.
  • End with a gift. A thank-you offer turns your survey into a revenue line.

Customer Luv ships these as ready-made templates — targeted by product, with a gift button at the end. See how it works →
